Agung Kuncahya Bayuaji earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the UKI Jakarta Faculty of Letters in 2004. During 2004-2005, he was selected to participate in a photography workshop hosted by the World Press Photo Course at the I See Gallery in Jakarta. He studied photography at the Antara Photojournalism Gallery during 2005-2006, and in 2016 he attended the Panna Foto Institute Training for the Trainers (ToT) Workshop. Agung began his career as a photographer in 2004-2007 at a church magazine, followed by 2007-2011 as a research and photographer at the National Daily Journal. Since 2011, he has been working as a photographer at the Xinhua News Agency Bureau Jakarta. His work has been featured in a number of publications such as Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, and others. He is interested in covering social, cultural, political, and sports issues.
